Our Ninth Symposium, organised by the Ukrainian and European Psychotherapy Alliance, focused on the theme “Anger, Humour, Connection and Love.” These four elements of human experience are all so important for Ukrainians to pay attention to as they cope with the full-scale war which has lasted for almost four years.

We began with a whole group session of Narrative Systemic Therapy conducted by two Systemic Family Therapists from Ukraine – Olena Stupak and Olena Dobrodnyk. We all had the opportunity to share our experiences of anger, humour, connection and love and a reflecting team responded as well. This was a powerful and moving beginning to our Symposium.
Almost 1300 delegates registered for the Symposium from Ukraine, and from all over the World. More than 600 participants attended the event.
This was a free event open to Psychotherapists. This Symposium was built on the World Council for Psychotherapy Statement regarding the invasion of Ukraine, which was adopted by EAP.
All participants of the Symposium unequivocally supported the statement of the World Council of Psychotherapy.
